A shelf of kitchen dishes: Among a plethora of mugs ranging from WalMart everyday value to 'I heart NY' tourist souveniers, I found a little blue and white crock for 50 cents. Score #1 for me. I love antique blue and white crocks. My collection started with the two that belonged to my grandmother. My grandpa gave them to me after she passed away.
A miscellaneous decor shelf: Several small brass candlesticks for $1 each. I recently saw a blog post about repainting brass pieces and some of the candlesticks I saw pictured were beautiful. I found these little ones and knew that when painted an oil rubbed bronze and grouped together, they would look great. Score #2 for me.
While browsing and trying my hardest NOT to look at clothing: I found a 'Kelly's Kid's' brand wool, plaid skirt for Princess. $3 for a $30 skirt. Score #3 for me (yes, it counts even though I went in looking for home decor).
Waiting in line to check out while the new employee struggled to comprehend the register: By shopping fate another employee came up front and said 'Hon, I can get you right here'. I walk around to the other side and set my basket of goodies down on the glass counter. Then I look INTO the glass counter where I saw several jewelry pieces, glass trinkets and... *que the bright light and choir* a Louis Vuitton wallet. Yes, a LOUIS VUITTON wallet. For $5. I calmly told the lady that I would like to see it. Part of me wondered if it was a knockoff and I wanted to check it out. The other part was afraid that if I turned my head it would disappear. It was the real deal. It was mine. Score #4 for me. Score of the year for me.
DEFINITELY a contender for Find of The Month: February. It's gonna be hard to beat.
Antique crock: $.50
Brass candlesticks: $1
Kelly's Kid's skirt: $3
Pulling out my Louis Vuitton wallet the next time I go shopping and knowing that my fast food lunch cost more: Priceless
